Paul Trunkfield

From an early age I would take photos on the family’s Polaroid camera, fascinated as the photo began to develop. I have been hooked on photography and moving pictures ever since.

Before picking up a video camera I studied sound engineering and music technology. With a home studio I’d write my own dance music using an Atari ST, analogue synths, drum machines and samplers. Then one day the idea came - how amazing would it be to make music videos for my songs. Creative Trunk was born.

My first professional job was to create a video for Leicester Newarke Houses Museum about the life of Alice Hawkins, Suffragette. Since then, my video production journey has taken me around the world and I have been fortunate to work on some amazing projects.

I've shot car rallies in Scotland, a wedding in Los Angeles, concerts in London and worked on numerous short films and features. As a freelancer I’ve directed, shot, edited, coloured, produced, sound designed and made the teas.

I have worked with leading brands such as Caterpillar, NHS, Santander, Historic England and many more.

I love my job! I get to tell stories through photos and moving pictures. I get to hang out with other camera nerds, share knowledge and I love helping people.
